GST to harmonise Indian Logistics Industry

As there is a federal system in India, thus indirect taxation is controlled by central as well as state level simultaneously. Each state has been powered to control some taxations on its own level and some taxations are shared between the central and the state. Differences in tax rates across the different states sometimes create dissatisfaction among the payer. Specifically for them who are running their businesses all over the country. Therefore understanding the problem Finance minister had proposed a national level Goods and Service Tax in the Union Budget for the year 2006-7 and the introduction date was put April 1, 2010. So the date is now near and the discussion & debates are on their way. Entrepreneurs have also some confusion and the logistics industry is not apart from this. Even some states like Punjab and Gujarat have shown their disagreement and have asked some more time before its implementation.
