Logistics sector asks for good location and infrastructure. Moreover it demands a place for manufacturing. Gujarat is one place which meets the criteria. This is the reason why we see Gujarat as the best place for logistics operations in India.

Gujarat is the first state to privatize the ports sector. The rate at which this sector is developing in the state is exemplary. In Information Technology too, the state is a front ranker. The administration is made more effective and speedy through e-governance, making settlement of issues faster. Agricultural Export Zones (AEZs) are being set up. Gujarat holds promise of laying the foundation for biotechnology, bio-informatics and industrial biotechnology.

Moreover, South Korea government's agency Korea Land Corporation(KLC) is going to set up a ‘Korean Industrial Park come Technology zone' in South Gujarat's Kalgam-Maroli Special Investment Zone(SEZ). Gujarat Government today signed a memorandum of association (MoA) with KLC in Gandhinagar.

The total length of roads (except municipal roads) in the /State was 74031 kms. at the end of March, 2002. Out of the total road length of 74031 kms. the length of surfaced roads was 70688 kms. (95.48 per cent). At the end of march, 2002 the total road length available per 100 sq.km. worked out to 37.77 km.

The State of Gujarat, located on the West Coast of India, has 1600 km. long coastline, representing a third of the nation's water front. Gujarat is strategically positioned to service the vast north and central Indian hinterland. The State has 40 minor and intermediate ports geographically dispersed across South Gujarat (13 ports), Saurashtra (23 ports) and Kachchh region (4 ports). One Major port of Kandla, is under the administrative control of the Central Government.
